DKC Alumni in KC Star

The Kansas City Star has been following the massive changes underway in the Kansas City, Missouri School District with a special section called, “Saving 17,000 kids“. In a recent article two DKC alumni that graduated from the District were interviewed to offer their insights and experiences. The alumni, Ryan Wash (Central) and LaToya Green (Lincoln Prep), now debate together on scholarship at Emporia State University. Mr. Wash noted the following about the role of debate in his education:

“Wash said he saved his education by joining Central’s debate team, which traveled to private prep schools across the Midwest.”
